Scholarships Offered: Geauga County Retired Teachers Association giving $1,500 grant

The Geauga County Retired Teachers Association is offering a $1,500 grant to a college senior. The recipient must be enrolled in a college of education and be a student teacher during the 2013-14 school year. In addition, the person must have resided in Geauga County or graduated from one of the high schools in the county.

Scholarships Offered: Delta Kappa Gamma Society International giving awards to future female educators

The Lake County Gamma Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society International has announced the availability of up to $1,500 in scholarships to assist with college costs for qualified future female educators.

Delta Kappa Gamma Society International promotes professional and personal growth of women educators and excellence in education. The Lake County chapter supports this mission by offering this scholarship to a female college student who will be a junior or senior for the 2013-14 school year, excels in a college Teacher Education Program and whose home residence is located in Mentor, Eastlake, Kirtland, Wickliffe, Willoughby or Willowick.

Scholarships Offered: Perry High School Alumni Association giving two awards

The Perry High School Alumni Association is accepting applications for $1,000 scholarships. The scholarships will recognize a PHS graduating senior and a graduating senior who is the child or grandchild of a Perry High School alumnus. Scholarship winners must exhibit commitment and loyalty to his or her school and or community.

Scholarships Offered: Americans of Italian Heritage offering awards to Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula, Cuyahoga students

The Americans of Italian Heritage and the Americans of Italian Heritage Charities Inc. have announced the scholarship program available to student residents of Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula and Cuyahoga counties. Four scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded this year. Scholarships will be awarded within three categories: Green, for a grade-point average of 2.5 to 2.99; White, GPA of 3.0 to 3.5; Red, GPA of 3.5

At least one parent of the applicant must be of Italian descent, and the student applicant must be either a graduating high school senior or a full-time undergraduate student. The selection committee is seeking to award well-rounded students who can demonstrate their dedication and commitment to continuing their education and who are in financial need.
